Participant account control
Participant account control determines how active relation permissions are interpreted.
Understand the states
- Managed account: every active managing customer receives the supported booking and participant-editing capabilities. Stored relation permissions are retained for use if the account later becomes self-managed.
- Self-managed account: each active managing customer receives only the permissions stored on that relation.
- Not initialized: historical participant data has no account-control record; stored relation permissions apply directly until an administrator initializes it.
Participants created through the supported managed-participant workflows start as managed. Their first successful authentication changes the account automatically to self-managed and records that the transition was processed. Later authentications do not repeat or overwrite the state change.
Change or initialize a state
Open the participant's native Customer page and find Participant account management in the Participants Manager card.
- For an initialized account, use Change status and Save.
- For a historical account marked Not initialized, choose an Initial status and select Initialize account management.
These actions require update access to both Participants Manager and native Customers.
Front-office visibility setting
Show account management controls in Front Office controls whether participants see the state selector and related account-management explanation. Turning it off changes presentation only. It does not disable participant mechanics, stored states, relation permissions, or the first-authentication hook.
